Cardiff

Last weekend, I went to Cardiff to visit one of my friends. We met at the train station Cardiff Central. The first thing you notice when you arrive in Wales is the fact that everything is written in English and Welsh. So we walked around the city centre before going to her place further in Cardiff. We stopped at the Castle so I could have my tourist picture (Haha!) and we had a walk in Bute Park just behing it. I have to say the parks in the Welsh capital are really nice and the blossoming trees was creating a pretty spring atmosphere.

After a short break at my friend's, we headed to Cardiff Bay. It's quite far from the city centre and the way to go is empty or at least residential. In Cardiff Bay you have: the Wales Millenium Centre, the Parliament, Doctor Who Experience. The place is really nice for a family day out. There are lots of restaurants on the footbridge, a caroussel for the children, and you can have a boat tour around the Bay. We had lovely welshcakes in a shop called 'Fabulous'.

Before going back home for dinner, we visited Roath Park. To be honest I prefer this one compare to Bute Park. One side of the park is a wonderful botanical garden full of roses, tulips and wild flowers. Theres is a big lake with ducks and swans, a playground, basketball grounds, football grounds, tennis courts,...

Sunday morning, we realised yesterday we visited most of Cardiff so today is all about chilling in the town centre.  We had breakfast at Harverster. I highly recommend you this restaurant because when you don't have much money it is just the best place to go. We had unlimited breakfast for £2.99 it was heaven on Earth. After feeling our belly we went to St David's shopping centre, to souvenir shops,... As we had some time to kill before I went back to the train station, we went to Bute Park again and we walked all around the Millenium Stadium.

And that's it! This is how you spend a good weekend in Cardiff! :)
